Pasto Bueno, Pampas District, Pallasca Province, Ancash, Peru

Pasto Bueno "mine" is a misnomer. Actually it is a mining district that includes the Huayllapon mine, Huaura Mine and Consuzo Mine. In some texts, Mundo Nuevo mine, Compaccha mine, Tamboras mine, La Victoria mine, Huaccara mine are also included.

Pasto Bueno yielded large emerald green fluorites.

Very dark red hübnerite with a very high metallic lustre and very high density. Faceted stones to over 5 ct can be rarely cut from this material.

Quartz crystals with arsenopyrite, sphalerite, pyrite, rutile or chlorite inclusions.

Rhodochrosite is usually light red to light pink colour. Only a few faceted stones up to 7.15 ct exist.
