Blue sapphires, fewer rubies and spinels, superb quality moonstones, tourmaline varieties, aquamarine and goshenite, quartz and topaz are commonly found at Kin. Radioactive crystals of thorite and pitchblende are reported from Kin and some of them were fashioned into cabochons. Large, high quality blue sapphires are found in the alluvium on the banks at the nearby streams of the Kin River.
