Pyaung-pyin, Marble Ark, Mogok Township, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Region, Myanmar

The gem mining areas are situated around the old village of Pyaung-pyin and it has benn known for a long time. The rocks are ruby-titanite-diopside marble, graphite-phlogopite marble and others.

The area features typical karst topography and is one of the oldest known cave systems in Mogok. Numerous caves are located in the small valley just below the Pyaung-pyin village. The main cave is situated at Sin-thé-byant.
