Light blue-green
amazonite was used in Lima as early as 2002, but became more common for a short time at the end of 2009. Density 2.57, hardness 6, refr. index 1.52 - 1.53, dark red under SWUV. The accompanying minerals are
quartz and white
feldspar. It reputedly comes from a pegmatite near Huachocolpa, in the eastern part of Huancavelica department.
