Perthite

Perthite is named after the town of Perth in Canada. It is formed by intergrowth of several varieties of feldspar - albite or oligoclase with a microcline or occasionally orthoclase host.

Perthite has reddish-brown or off-white body colour with mainly orange-gold labradorescence.

Perthite is used as an attractive ornamental stone.
