A synthetic gem/lapidary material using pieces of layered automobile paint that has accumulated and solidified in car factories. Modern manufacturing processes leave very little paint waste, but prior to the 1980s/1990s build up of paint in these factories over many years formed this hard multicoloured agate-like material.
Fordite Simulants
Rainbow Calsilica is a more modern (2002 onwards) artificial material that looks similar to fordite.
