Geneva Ruby

The Geneva Ruby is a synthetic ruby dating back to as early as 1885. Originally it was thought they were "reconstituted" from fragments of gem ruby melted together, but modern research suggests they are probably created using a flame-fusion method from alumina powder in a similar way to the Verneuli process of 1902 that created the Verneuli Ruby.
